The Hotel Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the island hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and full compliance with IHG brand standards. This role supports the General Manager in driving operational excellence while leading teams in a unique island-resort environment.

Your day to day:

Operations & Guest Experience
  • Lead daily hotel operations across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Entertainment, Recreation, Spa, Engineering, Security, and Island Logistics.

  • Ensure delivery of IHG Brand Standards, Guest Love metrics, and service excellence at all times.

  • Maintain a strong visible presence, engaging with guests and handling VIPs and escalated concerns.

  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, sustainability, and environmental responsibility appropriate for an island resort.

Financial & Commercial Performance
  • Support the General Manager in achieving revenue targets, GOP, and cost efficiencies.

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue teams to maximize Rooms, F&B, events, and experiential revenue.

  • Monitor budgets, forecasts, payroll, and procurement with strong cost control, considering island supply constraints.

  • Review P&L performance and implement corrective actions as required.

Food & Beverage, Entertainment & Experiences
  • Oversee all F&B outlets, bars, beach clubs, entertainment venues, and island events.

  • Ensure innovative concepts, themed nights, festivals, and guest experiences aligned with the brand and market demand.

  • Drive F&B quality, profitability, upselling, and guest satisfaction.

People Leadership & Culture (IHG Way of Working)
  • Lead and develop department heads and colleagues in line with IHGs True Hospitality for Good culture.

  • Drive colleague engagement, retention, and performance management.

  • Ensure effective recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning.

  • Promote compliance with IHG learning platforms, brand trainings, and leadership programs.

Brand Compliance, Quality & Risk
  • Ensure compliance with IHG Quality Assurance, Brand Audits, Fire Life Safety, and statutory regulations.

  • Oversee emergency preparedness, island safety protocols, and crisis management.

  • Support sustainability initiatives and environmental protection aligned with IHG ESG commitments.

Stakeholder & Island Coordination
  • Coordinate with island authorities, transport and marine operators, suppliers, and local partners.

  • Act as a professional representative of the hotel with owners, IHG corporate teams, and external stakeholders.

  • Support owner relations and long-term asset value enhancement.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong leadership experience in resort or island hotel operations

  • Solid financial and commercial acumen

  • Guest-centric, hands-on leadership approach

  • Strong understanding of IHG systems, standards, and brand culture

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to operate effectively in remote or island environments

Language Requirements
  • Fluent English is mandatory

  • French language proficiency is highly preferred, to support guest engagement and communication in a French-speaking market

Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field

  • Minimum 812 years of hotel experience, including 35 years in a senior management role

  • Prior experience with IHG or international hotel brands preferred

  • Island or destination resort experience is a strong advantage
